Resolve-specific rules

Free and Studio do not always expose the same decode coverage.

ClipCompat uses Blackmagic’s published codec matrix as a versioned baseline and keeps current Resolve 21 release changes in view. On Windows, H.264 and H.265 decode coverage can depend on profile, edition and hardware path, so uncommon 10-bit/chroma combinations are not turned into a false universal pass.

H.264MOV, MKV and MP4 are covered by the versioned Blackmagic baseline used by the rule engine; Windows Free is treated cautiously for higher-bit-depth profiles.
H.265 / HEVC8/10-bit OS-supported profiles are documented on Windows, with broader profile/acceleration support in Studio.
AV1The versioned Blackmagic codec matrix documents AV1 decode in MOV, MP4 and MKV; current Resolve 21 release notes are checked separately for changes.
VP9Common MOV/MP4/MKV workflows are documented, while uncommon containers remain test-required.

Versioned matrix plus current release notes.

The detailed codec rows remain tied to the exact vendor matrix that supports them. Resolve 21/21.1 release documentation is checked separately so a versioned baseline is not presented as a guarantee for every current system.
