What this case is designed to prove

Verify that ClipCompat can give different results for the same media facts depending on the selected editing target instead of treating “AV1” as one universal answer.

Expected behavior

What ClipCompat should report

  • Premiere should remain Test Required because the MVP intentionally avoids a broad universal AV1 support claim.
  • DaVinci Resolve should return a supported AV1 decode finding for MKV under the current Resolve 20 rule set, while still avoiding performance guarantees.
  • The VFR Checker should treat the fixture as CFR when that label is reported.

Development result

What we verified

This case is intentionally target-dependent. It validates the core product idea that identical media facts can lead to different guidance depending on the editor environment.

Safe handling

A supported codec finding is not a hardware benchmark. Preserve the original and test real playback/editing performance in the intended system.
